(Cedar Rapids, IA) -- The Linn County Attorney’s Office says an officer was justified in shooting his gun during an attempted traffic stop.

Linn County investigators say Reserve Officer Scott Fruehling of the Cedar Rapids Police Department had justifiable reason to use deadly force when 26-year-old Eddie Ayers III refused to get out of the car after a short chase and drove at the officer.

Fruehling shot at the car a total of three times before the suspect drove away. Ayers was later arrested with minor injuries, but it hasn't been said if they were gunshot wounds.
