Coldest Week of Winter Season Begins in Omaha

OMAHA, Nebraska -- A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect until 10 a.m. in Omaha and several Eastern Nebraska counties.

The National Weather Service says wind chills could be negative-20 to negative-25 degrees at times.

Those wind chills will stick around this week with overnight lows in the negative-single digits before Thursday when overnight lows will dip down into the negative-double digits.

There are a few chances of light snow with the cold snap ahead.

Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday could see some light snow.

Its been the snowiest December through February on record in Lincoln.

The National Weather Service says they've had 39.8 inches since December 1st, which is about 23-inches above normal.
