Multiple rail cars off tracks after Polk County, Iowa bridge collapse

(Polk County, IA) -- Several rail cars are off the tracks after a bridge collapse in northeast Polk County. The Sheriff's Office has closed several streets as Union Pacific Railroad crews begin clean-up. There's no word of any hazardous materials spilled. The Sheriff's Office says the train car derailment was reported around 5:30 this (Friday) morning east of Ankeny and south of Elkhart.

Road closures include:

NE 102nd Avenue between NE 38th Street and NE 46th Street

NE 108th Avenue between NE 38th Street and NE 46th Street

NE 118th Avenue between NE 38th Street and NE 46th Street.
