(Des Moines, IA) -- The Polk County Attorney's Office is dropping a murder charge against a Des Moines man.
Michael Jacobs had been charged in the death of Sean Newman.
Police now say there were inconsistencies with statements from a witness, so the murder charge against Jacobs has been dropped. Newman died after being shot September 2nd, in a neighborhood east of Drake University.
Whitney Davis of Des Moines has also been charged in Newman's murder.
