WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Sac & Fox Tribe of the Mississippi in Iowa will get disaster relief after a declaration from President Trump.
Trump approved a major disaster last night and ordered federal aid in tribal areas damaged by last month’s derecho storm.
Federal money will be available to the Sac & Fox Tribe and non-profits to make repairs from the storm and conduct hazard mitigation.
Damage assessments are continuing in other areas where additional assistance could be made available.
The The Sac & Fox Tribe of the Mississippi in Iowa is headquartered in Tama, roughly 70 miles east and north of Des Moines.
