OMAHA, Neb. -- Police are investigating a car crash that left one dead and two injured in North Omaha early Saturday morning.

Police say they responded to the crash about a half mile south of Benson High School Magnet just after 3 a.m. and found that a 2015 Chevy Cruz failed to follow a curve, went over the median, and crashed into an oncoming 2018 Chevy Cruz.

Omaha Fire came and declared 26-year-old Jayson Reliford, the driver and only person in the 2015 Cruz, dead at the scene. Two women in the 2018 Cruz were injured in the crash and were transported to Nebraska Medicine.

Police say alcohol and speed were factors in the crash.
