107 new COVID-19 cases, 7 more deaths in Iowa

DES MOINES, Iowa -- There are 107 new cases of COVID-19 coroanvirus in Iowa with seven additional deaths.

The Department of Public Health says the fatalities are people in Black Hawk, Linn, Muscatine, Tama, and Woodbury counties

COIVID-19 has now killed 90 people in Iowa.

The department also says there is an outbreak is another long term care facility. The center in Poweshiek County makes 11 long term care facilities with coronvirus outbreaks.

The Iowa Department of Public Health is sending a "strike team" to Tama County to test long-term care facility staff members.

More than 10 percent of the state's COVID-19 cases and more than half of deaths are connected to long term care facilities.

More than 3,700 people have tested positive for the virus, and more than 1,400 people have recovered.
