(DES MOINES, Iowa)     A Johnston woman, accused of leaving her children home alone, while she traveled to Germany entered an Alford plea in Polk County Court today (Monday) to four counts of child endangerment charges.

An Alford plea means the defendant does not admit guilt, but acknowledges prosecutors have enough evidence to convict them.

In exchange for Erin Macke's plea, the judge dropped one count of transferring a gun to a person under age 21.

The 31-year-old Macke faces up to eight years in prison, two years for each count of child endangerment. She is to be sentenced in April.
