Oprah's "Weinstein" Problem

Some of the fallout from the historic 2016 election:

1.  Loss of credibility by the coastal media in the nation's heartland

2.  Loss of status by a number of folks who considered themselves important

3.  Loss of moral authority by celebrities and the chattering classes

At a time when Democrats may be yearning for a "celebrity" candidates,  celebrity credibility on any issue is gone.

That hasn't stopped an "Oprah" frenzy.

But Oprah finds herself, along with the rest of the celebrity class, scrambling to regain any credibility with the American public when she ascends the lecturn to begin to lecture.

Fox News reports that the #metoo hashtag is rapidly being replaced with #sheknew.

Internationally renowned musician Seal trashed Oprah Winfrey on social media just days after her widely praised speech at the Golden Globe Awards on sexual misconduct in Hollywood, calling her a “part of the problem for decades.”

In a fiery Instagram post Wednesday, Seal republished a pair of photos of Winfrey with disgraced movie mogul Harvey Weinstein, including one in which she appears to be kissing the producer’s cheek. Overlayed on the photos, in all-caps, is the text: “When you have been part of the problem for decades, but suddenly they all think you are the solution.”

The entertainment class is attempting to scramble back to the moral high ground (wow, black dresses and suits!), but is -  at the moment and maybe permanently -  unable to gain their footing.

That's ALSO part of the aftermath of the last election:  the rules have changed, but many are desperately clinging to the old rules.
