There is a "For Sale" Sign on the Coca-Cola Plant in Waukee...WHY?

Kirk Tyler of Coca-Cola, joined us in the studio this morning just after the 7:30 news with a couple of big news items for us.  First of all, they are coming out with a new Coke Zero...tastes more like the regular Coke only with no sugar.  Look for it coming out in August!

What's the "For Sale" sign doing at the Coca-Cola Plant in Waukee all about?  They have outgrown their building in Waukee and have purchased a facility five times the Waukee size and will soon be moving to their new location at 3600 Army Post Road.  All the cans and bottles will be made in Atlantic, with the distribution plant being here in Des Moines.  With the growth of their new facility, they are looking for lots of new employees.  To apply, go to www.AtlanticBottling.com.  Please do not come to the new plant as they are in the process of moving.

This is what the new packaging will look like for the new Coke Zero.  Watch for it in August.

There's a lot going on this weekend with the big Italian Festival at Western Gateway Park in downtown Des Moines, the Downtown Des Moines Farmers Market and the Indianola National Balloon Classic.  The weather is supposed to be great for doing anything outside this weekend...so get out and enjoy!

Talk to you Monday!
