Iowa State Fair's butter sculptures announced

The State Fair's announcing this year's butter cow will share cooler space with a tribute to Laura Ingalls Wilder, to celebrate the author's 150th birthday.

Wilder spent part of her childhood in Burr Oak, Iowa, and her sister Mary attended the Vinton School for the Blind in Iowa.

Butter sculptor Sarah Pratt will also create a replica of the Solheim Cup golf trophy.  The high profile, international Solheim Cup women's golf tourney begins August 14th at Des Moines Golf and Country Club.

This year's butter, cow, Laura Ingalls Wilder, and the Solheim Cup trophy will be on display in the John Deere Agriculture Building during the Iowa State Fair, which runs August 10th-20th.
