There has been a shake up at one of the more visible agencies in state government.
Iowa Department of Public Safety Commissioner Brian London has resigned.
London quit Tuesday night after a one on one meeting with Governor Terry Branstad.
Governor Branstad has not commented on the development but he has appointed Larry Noble to head the Commissioner's Office. Noble was the man London replaced late last year.
London's brief tenure at the department has been marred by several controversies, including one in which he fired a DCI agent after the agent reported that the governor's SUV was speeding.
London is being sued over that matter and there have been reports of reduced morale at the department since London became the Commissioner.
