Two Eastern Iowa credit unions have announced plans to merge.
The two financial institutions are Dupaco Community Credit Union based in Dubuque, and the Iowa Community Credit Union based in Cedar Falls. Both credit unions will operate under the Dupaco name. Together they'll have more than 80,000 members and 18 branches, including locations in Wisconsin and Illinois.
Iowa Community Credit Union said the impending retirement of President/CEO Mark Heth prompted the credit union board to examine their future. The board decided the merger was good for both the members and employees.
The merger now faces regulatory approval and a vote by Iowa Community Credit Union members.
