(Davenport, IA) -- Iowa is awarding grant monies to train truck drivers. Eleven Iowa community colleges will share in over 4.8-million dollars to improve CDL training infrastructure through the Future Ready Iowa program.

Eastern Iowa Community College will receive nearly 800-thousand dollars to pave three training ranges in Davenport, and add a new facility in Muscatine. They'll also purchase four tractor-trailer rigs, reducing training time for a CDL license from seven weeks to four.
